Ralph Blume

Ralph Blume and his wife Doris live on the property she's lived on since she was a child. Sunoco took part of their property by eminent domain to build its Mariner East 2 pipeline. The trees the company cleared to establish the Right-of-Way for the pipeline were the ones her father planted 65 years earlier. Their water became contaminated shortly after the trees were felled. The problems don't stop there, but looming over the Blumes is also the fear that a pipeline failure could mean disaster for them and their property and so they continue to fight.

Ralph told their story to filmmaker Hugh Brownstone for his project, Mariner East, the Web Series. For more on their story, you can also read Lee Ziesche's piece on the Blumes.
